Releasing to the world today (Friday 7 September) ‘Portraits’ is the debut release from Fables.
Fronted by songstress Jess Bailey, ‘Portraits’ features a large collection of musicians from around NZ and from the present and past lineups of Fables. Click through to bandcamp and you’ll see the list of exceptional musicians!
Portraits began as an idea to record a live 4 track EP that then gradually evolved into a hearty body of work. Although 7 tracks could be enough to warrant album status, front woman Jess is adamant that the term “Experimental Project” – EP for short, sums up the endeavour perfectly. Recorded at a variety of locations, from The Wine Cellar, to their own home, it’s a project that perfectly captures the feel of the band and the breadth of songs that Jess writes.
